After breakfast at the hotel, you will be picked up ataround 07:45 hrs from your hotel lobby for city tour of Athens. The tour starts with a visit to PANATHINAIKO STADIUM which was the cradle of the first Olympic Games took place in 1896 (short stop). Then you will pass by the Prime’s Ministers residence, Ex Royal Palace, (guarded by colourful Evzones) Zappion (Conference and Exhibition Hall), National Garden, Hadrian’s Arc, St. Paul’s Church, Parliament, Tomb of the Unknown soldier, Schlieman’s House (Numismatic Museum), Catholic Cathedral,Academy, University, National Library, Old Parliament, Constitution Square, Russian Orthodox Church and then visit the ACROPOLIS,the crowning beauty and glory of Ancient Athens, with its many monuments atop its rocky base, including the Parthenon, the Propylea, the temple of Athena Nike and the Erechtheion, with its Porch of Maidens. Later you will conclude the tour with the visit to the new ACROPOLIS Museum, considered one of the most important archaeological museums in Athens and ranks among the most important museums of the world. For the first time ever all the surviving treasures of the Acropolis will be seen together in one place. Works currently held in storage or in other museum in Greece and all over the world are now together in the museum and close to their original location. The Acropolis museum main attractions such as votives, artifacts of every day life, statues from archaic period, Caryatids, and of course the Parthenon hall with the metopes, the pediments and the frieze will impress you. Another major exhibit is the remains of the ancient Athenian city that revealed by archaeological excavations on the site of the museum.
